🧹 SEO Recovery + Blog Cleanup: 33% Increase in Organic Clicks

The challenge:

Following a major algorithm update in late 2023, Eventbrite’s blog saw a noticeable dip in visibility and traffic. Much of the content was outdated, poorly optimized, or structurally misaligned with user needs.

The site was bogged down by hundreds of outdated pages, missed interlinking opportunities, and content that no longer met quality standards. We needed a fast, strategic response to reclaim lost visibility.

What I did:

I led a multi-phase SEO recovery initiative:

  • Collaborated with external agencies and internal SEO to audit and address technical issues

  • Executed thousands of redirects to clean up legacy content

  • Prioritized and internally refreshed 133 posts, using AI to accelerate production

  • Worked with agency partners to refresh 160+ articles and surface high-value evergreen content

  • Collaborated on technical SEO fixes with our dev and SEO partners

  • Reorganized content into topic clusters mapped to high-value keywords

  • Rolled out SGE mitigation tactics like content diversification, SME quotes, and better engagement strategies

The results:

  • 33% increase in North American organic clicks (post-update in August 2024)

  • 13% increase in UK organic clicks

  • Blog visibility score rose from 6.81 → 8.42 (24% lift)

  • 6,100+ new keywords captured

  • Organic sessions up 67% from June and 7% from July
